Over charged

I went here a few years ago to get lights changed on my ford puma and they told me it needed BMW lights as they can't get the bulbs needed anymore for the puma and that you have to remove all the front to fit it I was charged £35 for a bulb to be changed. A few weeks later my heating went so took it down again (silly I know) I was told I would be charged for them just to look at it and was charged over £100 for a valve to be changed I told my m8s about it and the bulb and they were in stitches especially about the bulb so I never went back. The bulb went again and cost my £10 at anther garage who also laughed at BMW bulb thing to. My mum needed a seat belt fixed in her car and said she was charged over £200 when I asked where she got it done, that's right Ravenhill garages avoide this place if you can there all friendly but if they can take extra money from you they will

Im sorry but you went to a garage to have a qualified mechanic change a headlight bulb and then believe you have the knowledge and skills to correctly gauge that you have recevived a bad service? Genuine seatbelt assembly for a Saab 9-3 (example) will be about 115 - so now we're down to 85 for removing old one and putting new one in. Again mb a few hours work. There's the guts of your mum's 200. You're very quick to slate the garage and present an appalling review; yet, you do not provide details - Any time I've dealt with this garage, I've received a receipt FULLY breaking down parts v. labour. Needless to say, this "over 100" would have inluded both. Why not tell us what was labour and what was parts? Labour can bring up charges. Some cars have an incredible amount of removing before you can get to a headlight. SAy the bulb is a tenner - leaving 25 for labour AND VAT. A half hour job seems not unreasonable for this and would cost about the same

Called in to this garage after having some trouble with my car I was told I needed to get a part myself and then come back. They never even looked at the car and seemed like they couldn't be bothered dealing with it. After visiting anther garage who actually looked at the car, turned out that there wasn't a problem with car at all just a bit of wd40 and all sorted. Had I ordered the part and paid for labour would have cost a good bit.

WD40 is not a fix!
It is a TEMPORARY solution.
Dont even fit parts that customers bring to us. Voids warranty..
Try telling the truth?!

Just bought a second hand car and had a few things wrong so took it down to this garage after it was recommended by a friend. They they were very friendly and took the car in the same day and took the time to look at the car and after it was fixed explained what was done will defiantly be back as it's so hard to find a good garage who care about there customers
