This is one of my favourite pubs in Sheffield. At the outset it looks like a fairly traditional chain pub but it serves good beers and the atmosphere is always good. The bar staff are friendly the food is decent pub grub at a reasonable price, there’s plenty of tables and every time you go in there it feels comfortable, relaxed and welcoming. The clientele are a mix of students, regulars and passers by on the Ecclesall Road run. It’s particularly good on a cold winter’s day to sit in the window with a pint watching the world go by.

The new Lescar!

The Lescar has changed! What used to be a smoke filled tap room and beer stained lounge (for 'the ladies') has had a massive refurb. Now there's mood lighting, funky decor and premium lagers on tap. The old crusties have been moved out and you'll not get fed for £2.50 like you used to! Now there's black roll-necks and tapas. In truth the ambience is very chilled, the beers are good and the comedy night in the back room is top class. My only criticism is that it's very expensive now and there's nothing of the old local feel to it, but there's many that would see that as a positive. There's also a decent beer garden in case on day we get some sun in the UK.
