My partner and I very much enjoyed the ambience of Old Downton Lodge.
We were lucky enough to dine in the atmospheric restaurant and were made very welcome by its manager. Later we even shared a drink with the proprietors.
The food was exceptional. Of particular note was the goat's cheese crustard. Truly a taste sensation.
The main was an expertly cooked guinea fowl, followed by extremely tasty panna cotta.
Service was attentive but not invasive.
Thoroughly recommended and well worth a trip deep into the heart of the countryside from nearby Ludlow.
