Farmers arms
2
I lived at the back of the farmers arms for many years and used to watch the men playing boules on the bowling green out the back, then over the years it got taken over by first one then another landlord.
The latest land lord decided to pull down the childrens play area in hope of putting up a smokers hut, but when you go past it noone is out the back smoking them all stand out the front smoking, blocking the narrow foot path.
The bowling has been stopped and they let little tearaways play football on the green no consideration fot the fact that the pub is situated next to houses so the locals have to put up with kids balls breaking their garden ornaments all the time.
The food quality has gone down hill, whilst the price has gone up.
The place is a proper old mans pub in side with the regulars claiming their seats and god help if your sat in one they don't like it and are not afraid to ask you to move.
They do have the football on when its on, but its on a little normal telly.
Barstaff could do with learning how to smile.
There is plenty more local pubs which if i was you i would try instead of this one.

sainsburys

One of my local supermarkets, and have been in here on many occasions.
Its the store which shares its building with John lewis's and there is a shares cafe on the ground floor and restaurant on the first floor.
The staff at sainsburys are always pleasent, and helpful and usually go out of their way to help you.
The store is well presented and lay out in a good way, easy to find what your looking for.
The food is always well packaged, and it has some unusual foods that you won't find in the likes of tesco etc.
There is a deli counter, fresh creams and bread counter, curry and chinese counter and fresh meats (ie steak etc) counter, and a fish counter.
The freezer aisle is quite small, and the entertainments area is small.
There is lots of tills all usually maned and the customer services are pleasent and nice.

Ma potters

Been to Ma potters in the Trafford centre no less than a dozen times since it opened, it has had a couple of changes in menu and face lifts, some for the worse.
The staff are normally pleasent, though most are foreign and do not speak english that well.
Sometime there is a wait for a table but most times we are seated right away.
The childrens menu are great, has a wide variety of food on offer, and do different menus for babies, toddlers, and older children.
The food is cooked and served behind a transparent screen, and is always well presented.
Steak has a lovely taste.
It is a breath of fresh air after walking round the Trafford centre for hours, and the kids are given balloons and crayons etc to keep them occupied, also no fighting for tables like in the orient.
However it is quite steeply priced.

bell house

Been in here a couple of times, always given a seat right away, the staff are pleasent enough, and you can use the wacky warehouse while you wait for your food, though you do have to pay to use it.
However have tried a couple of different meals but the food is bland, no taste to it, although reasonably priced, and most on the buy one get one free, but still most is not edible.
You also have to go to the bar to buy your drinks can't order them with your meal.
The wacky ware house is always crowded often think that they have too many people in there, as you can't move about freely, and there is alway the annoying children in there whilst their parents are in the restaurant, that are battering the other children, you can't see the wacky ware house from the restaurant.
Not for us.

sols - takeaway

This take away place serves pizzas, kebabs, burgers, jacket potatos and also normal chip shop food.
The service that you receive is always friendly and staff normally have a smile.
Food can be collected or delivered. Local delivery is free over £7.00 and if your order is over £10-12, they often give you a bottle of lemonade (well they do for us anyway!).
The food is always nice, and i would recommend the greedy kebab which you can have on pitta or naan bread and contains three meats of your choice (just a hint you get more meat on naan than on pitta) it serves two of us as we order one of these between two, the prices are very reasonable aswell, and when we have home delivery the food is always piping hot still.

Pizza hut - where not to go
1
Decided to go to this pizza hut after shopping in stockport centre, on the way to get the train home.
The place is dingy, and looks like it could do with a real good clean, the waiters/waitressess look like they real don't want to be working there, and the food is terrible.
Have eaten in different pizza huts before but this is by far the worst.
The food took nearly an hour from ordering to arrive then some of the order was wrong so we had to wait for the right order to appear.
My children wouldn't eat their pizza saying it was horrible so i tasted it and couldn't agree more with them it was disgusting, so i told the waitress who ordered a replacement for it, which was as bad( it was a cheese and tomato pizza), in the end i told them i wasen't paying for their pizzas and they could deduct it from the bill.
We left after only half eating our meals as we couldn't wait to get out of there.
Never again - avoid this restaurant.

midland hotel
3
Myself and my partner decided to stay in the midland hotel on a saturday night after getting a night off from the kids and decided to go into town to let our hair down.
We arrived just before check in and were told that unfortunatley the room wouldn't be reading for another half hour but we were given a complimentry drink whilst we waited.
We didn't have dinner at the hotel as we went to a restaurant but we did however decide to have a nosy in the mini bar, big mistake it has a device which everytime you move a drink in it it relates it to reception that you have drank it, so we had to go grovelling to reception to tell htem we hadn't actually drank it but were just being nosy.
The room was basic, not what i thought a 4 star would be like, and it wasen't cheap for one night, but it had a bed, ensuite and kettle and mini bar.
The only down fall i could think of were that the security guard were a bit patroninsing as after our night out(we returned at midnight) the security guard came to the door and stated you can't come in here its for guests only, on telling him we were guests he stated i don't think so, luckily i had take the room key out with us an had to produce it for him to believe us, we never got an apology though.
Breakfast next morning was average, nothing special.
I feel we would of been better saving a little money and staying at a holiday in or something, as theres not much difference.
