The only fault with this chippy is there isnt enough seating indoors - when the weather is nice that isnt a problem as you can sit in centenary square with your chips, but, with our weather being as bad as it is i prefer to sit indoors....there is only about 8 tables seating 4 at each and usually we eat with just 2 of us so we are always wary of strangers wanting to share your table, which i dont like...
The fish from here is legendary - it is very melt in your mouth gorgeous.....their chips arent that much of a hit with me but their fish and mushy peas make up for that....i always have a fish and mushys mmmm.....me and my daughter can eat here for about £6 which isnt bad for a meal for two....
while the staff could be politer on occasions i can see why they dont have the time because they are so busy busy busy - it is a takeaway as well as a restaurant and there is usually only 3 or 4 people working at any one time....id be stressed out too...but, given that they are very friendly most often than not....you do need patience and wait for a table and wait for serving but it is well worth it...
the menu is the usual fish shop fare with a few additions and a dessert menu - the prices are very good and they do deals for pensioners...
mmm

Brown Cow Inn
Ireland Bridge,
Bingley,
BD16 2QX
Tel: 01274 564345
my late mum and dad used to take us here as kids when we used to go see grandad on his barge at the five rise locks (nearby).....i remember having pie and peas then and they were absolutely gorgeous....i have since been back with my family just for their gorgeous food and take us back to the memories of my mum and dad.
the pub has a real family atmosphere during the day but at night times if there is live music happening it totally changes the atmosphere - it then becomes a more 'rockish' pub with the atmosphere of the live music, which varies in styles and tastes....
you can also hire this pub out (private room with its own bar) for your own private party, which, if one is happening, changes the cosy atmosphere of the pub into one of party party.....most people who frequent this pub are very friendly and become regulars...the bar meals are enough alone to entice people here as the food is absolutely gorgeous and worth the money - the menu is varied with the traditional british pub grub and sandwiches and roasts - the price isnt too dear either, but, they dont do deals which make it a bit dearer than other pub chains....
there is outside sitting too which in summer gives it a lovely feel - especially if they do an impromptu bbq outdoors....there is ample carparking too because the pub is on a quite busy road with no offroad parking....
the interior is very traditional with the open fires and handcask beers and mahogany....
very nice

this is the posher of the two theatres in bradford - the front of it is very impressive with its grand design and lit exterior....located near all the local clubs its a good night out before going clubbing....inside there is ample space on 4 floors but it does get full quickly for the main shows and for the pantamime which is on annually (usually the same peope in it too).....
there is lots of help for disabled people - with level access for those in wheelchairs and spaces downstairs for them...and also audio loops for hard of hearing....also they allow guide dogs in and actually ive seen them also come out with bowls of water for the dogs too....
the toilets are clean and adequate but always tend to smell a bit stuffy for some reason....
there is always some top notch act on and some big stars appearing so book early then you are guaranteed a seat....
there is also a nice restaurant at the lower level which serves a lovely roast or a quick snack, but, it is quite dear and the service isnt as quick as i wouldve liked the last time i used it....

old and quaint

Bridge Street
Bradford,

This is an old, quaint victorian style building....even though it is many storeys high there is good disabled facilities available with level access to inside and wheelchair access to the seating area downstairs....there is also help for deaf people with their audio systems and a few performances are especially for lip readers...any other help required if you ask before hand it will be offered to you...
you can book online (booking fee added too)/via post/in person or by phone but if you have a discount card it is always best to do it in person that way you ensure you get your discount...
there is always a wide variety of performances happening and ive never been disappoint yet at any of the shows ive been to...the only complaint is the seating is very cramped and you do find yourself sitting on the person at the side and front of you...its also hard to get in and out of the seats but, if you are prepared for this and really want to see the show it is well worth it...
be prepared for the queues too as there are only 2 bars and they get very hectic in the intermission....the toilet queues are also very busy - infact i found myself using the mens the last time as there wasnt anyone in (be prepared lol)....the toilets are very nice and clean though....

good time had
5
i went here for the r.e.m concert and thought i would have a hard time finding it - wrong...just as we got off the tram it was there - so easy to find....
obviously being a concert we couldnt just stroll in, but they had erected barriers up where we could wait (being a fan club vip helped us get in early)...
the ground was quite sodden due to all the rain we had had and they had to barricade some off as they were replacing the turf...but, it is absolutely huge...
first time ive been here and looking around there is an impressive array of seats at one side and then an impressive choice of food/drink outlets at another side...the stage was right at the front and was huge....outside of the grounds there was also a huge array of food/drink stands and you could see the old trafford lodge hotel there too which had a bar open to the public....
while the food was very very dear it was only to be expected at a concert/sports ground.....it also tasted yummy and very morish.....
the toilets couldve been cleaner but im sure that was just because of how busy it was because they werent unkempt at all...
there were plenty of security people on site to make you feel safe and plain clothed police were mingling with the crowd too....there were also various maintenance people cleaning up all around the stadium and when we passed early the next morning you would never have known there was a concert there as it was so tidy - they mustve worked all through the night....
the staff were obviously stressed but they were very polite and jokey....

nice and tasty

Bradford,

this is my local kebab hut and i love it....after a night boozing all i want is a nice kebab or something else tasty so a trip here sorts it....this kebab hut is unique because it doesnt just sell kebabs - it has indian takeaways too so it is nice and tasty - because the indian takeaway is next door but one to it they allow you to eat either inside or sit in one and order from the other......the prices are nice and cheap and the food is yummy and you get loads of it....the staff are quite polite but one or two do get ratty if you are over-drunk lol....
the interior could be cleaner but you can watch your food being prepared and you can see how hygienic they are that way so that reassures me....also this is a hut and is only small so there isnt much storage space for them, thus, it always looks cluttered and untidy.....
there is a very very small toilet out back but beware because there is never a light working and no lock fitted - very embarrasing sometimes....
the kebab hut is on the road side and is very convenient to jump out of taxi and grab your meal you maybe ordered on the way

The staff are usually quite rushed as there never seems to be enough of them but they seem quite polite....there are security guards on duty to make you feel safe and if you are having trouble watching a film because some idiots are trying to spoil it for you, you can discretely go ask for someone to come and keep a watch in the screen you are in - they usually end up chucking someone out....the worst films for the trouble are 15 up wards ones because the teens dont know how to shut up during the film...

lovely stay thanks

The Trafford Hall Hotel is a huge old Victorian building which was originally the Trafford Public Hall. it took us about 5/10 minutes from the tram next to old trafford to get to the hotel which isnt bad.....you have to get a tram from centre of manchester to the old trafford first but thats only a quick journey too... there was also a bar and restaurant and a huge carpark too...
we stayed here after a recent r.e.m concert and was absolutely shattered so didnt really enjoy the ensuite facilities or the tv...but, the insuite coffeemaking freebies got used and the complimentary biscuits.....our room even though we booked a twin was infact a triple and was huge - with a spacious wardrobe space and a lovely leather couch to relax on....the beds were clean and tidy and freshly made - the nights sleep was lovely....one con of this hotel was because it was old and victorian it had an old smell to it but, it was very clean....
the breakfast the next morning served up to 9am was gorgeous - you help yourself to the pastrys/scones/toast, etc on offer and then can order a full english too which was absolutely yummy - the sausages were divine....it was a decent helping too because i left some......
the guys running the restaurant were very pleasant and chatty - one we nicknamed smiler as he had such a huge smile on his face all the time.....the young lady on reception was a bit ditty but such fun....
a lovely friendly place to stay....

I love this pub as it has such an unique feel to it - the inside while quite dark is very cosy....it appeals to rockers and goths and other unique people - you very rarely see a chav in here thank god....they do different live music nights and promotions which have the rock feel to it which makes it good....
unfortunately the toilets are in need of a total renovation - its scary in there sometimes but, i suppose it adds to the atmosphere of the pub....
the staff are quite friendly in a rockerish kind of way....
the best time for this pub is halloween night when it really comes into its own with the dark atmosphere....
