...(cont) ... His tone is rude. I remind him that is was THEY who 1st suggested delivery. He complains that they tried to deliver but I wasn't at home. (my blood starts to boil) I remind him of the circumstances surrounding the failed delivery - that it was THEIR fault because I very clearly told them to come after 6:30. Still no apology. He makes out that they have done me some huge favour & tells me that it was a gesture of goodwill that they offered to deliver it in the 1st place. A GESTURE OF GOODWILL SOMEWHAT LOSES IT'S GOODNESS WHEN YOU TRY TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER FEEL GUILTY FOR THIS HUGE FAVOUR YOU HAVE STOOPED TO BESTOW ON THEM! I told him that I felt tricked into parting with my money over the phone - money which should have gone on rent. He patronises me with "Your laptop is ready for collection." I tell him that getting to Bromley is difficult. He questions this, saying "Well you managed to get it here in the first place" I really cannot believe my ears! I ask him how he can presume to know the details of my daily schedule! If I say that getting to Bromley is difficult, then getting to Bromley is difficult! He repeats that my laptop is ready for collection after I wasn't at home to take delivery of it before. It didn't matter HOW MANY TIMES I told him that the delivery was agreed on the understanding that they would arrive after 6:30, he was like a stuck record. I said that I wanted a refund of my money and that I will pay on collection, that the old fashioned way of doing things is that when a customer pays for something, THEY GET IT! He repeats that my laptop is ready for collection. This horrid man apologised for NOTHING. Not for the bungled communication which delayed the work by over a week, not for their mistake with the delivery, not for cheekily suggesting that if I could drop my laptop into Bromley then I could surely collect it, not for how upset I was, for taking my money by stealth & not for the fact that, by the time I get my computer, they will have had it for a month. I asked him if he was happy that this customer was so upset, that she was now NOT going to have them do the further work needed on her laptop and was certainly NOT going to recommend them, that she was very unwell and was now in a complete mess of tears. He said "Well no but....(the word is SORRY!).....words failed him as they have finally done to me.... "Outraged" & "cheated" only come CLOSE....I am going to email the director of the company. I am once again going to ask for my money back until I actually receive my laptop &, if refused, I am going to get legal advice as I do not see how they can take my money when I have no receipt & no laptop- this surely isn't morally right not to mention legal. Until they make amends I am going to do this: each day I will find a different online forum in which to copy/paste my experience with this company; they say that a happy customer tells 2 people but an unhappy customer tells 10.....well I'll tell 100. I don't want another person to be so upset. And it was all so uneccessary: until I was unfortunate enough to cross paths with this Tony (remember - I THINK there is another one & I don't want to dent the reputation of the "nice Tony") I would have given them 10/10. If both men are indeed Tony then one of them is Dr Jekyll - reserved for potential customers & the other is Mr Hyde - for those pesky customers who - once parted from their money DARE to ask for some sort of service! All the other staff are kind & helpful and even if they don't communicate effectively all of the time, my policy is "All's well that ends well" & so, I STILL would have given PCHospital top marks. BEWARE THE RUDE MANAGER! TAKE YOUR CUSTOM ELSEWHERE! I had my computer ruined by cowboys & so I needed my faith aswell as my laptop restored. I was at first impressed by the friendly, helpful & knowledgable staff. They diagnosed the problems & gave me a quote. Although it seemed good value, money is too tight to mention & so I said I would need a few days to decide what if any of it I could afford. In the mean time, my mum also wanted her laptop fixed & so I recommended PCHospital - impressed as I was thus far. I took in her laptop & believing that 1 good turn deserves another, I was glad to put more custom their way. Meanwhile, I had done some budgetting & decided that even if I couldn't afford it, I could justify getting my laptop fixed if I went without a few things for a month. I have been off work since July, having been diagnosed with a serious illness & I (only just) survive on benefits alone. Sometimes I feel lonely & cut-off so having my laptop would improve my wellbeing & be of practical help eg for online grocery shopping when I am too poorly to leave the house. Happy with my decision, I gave Paul the "go-ahead." 3 days later I was phoned by Emma. She said that my mum's was ready but what did I want them to do with my laptop? I told her that I had agreed to the work days ago. She apologised &, although disappointed at the delay, I said "No problem -these things happen" The next day I receive a call from Josie saying that my mum's was ready for collection but what did I want doing with my laptop? Frustrated & astounded by how non-existent their communication is, I secretly wondered if people who work with computers may forget how to use old fashioned methods like writing a message or talking to a colleague! These musings kept me from being really cross - afterall Josie, Paul & Emma were uber friendly & otherwise competent. I said: "No problem - it's just one of those things." The next day I collected my mum's & while I was there, I asked after the progress with mine. I was told "Nothing yet - we were waiting for you to give us the go ahead!" Now I was cross. Making a journey to Bromley is not an easy thing for me to do & I was losing confidence in these people. This time I expressed my feelings assertively but politely. I said I was frustrated: "Don't you guys talk to eachother?!" Like Josie & Emma before him, this man apologised - & it may sound old fashioned- but that little word "SORRY" really does heal so many wounds. "Nevermind, let me know when it's ready." Finally I receive a phone call from the same man who I spoke to in the shop last, & - this is where it gets confusing- I think his name was Tony. I recognised his voice as the same man who apologised for the communication blunder. I said that I could not collect it that day but on mon or tues. I was recovering from surgery, the cocktail of painkillers & other medications were making me nauseous & dizzy & I did not relish the 30 min bus journey there, or the cold wait for a return bus only to stand up the whole way home (which always happens- I don't look disabled to other people & so noone offers me a seat unless I collapse 1st!)
