Gold selling experience
5
This week I sold some gold to this business and was very impressed with the service, price and knowledge. I had a reasonable quantity of gold to sell and had been around a few of the shops in Taunton.
M G Welch offered me a slightly higher price than any of the others for some English 9ct gold jewellery, but more importantly gave me a fair price on some items I had purchased in the middle east over 20 years ago. These were made of 18ct gold but were not marked with any of the approved stampings for the UK. Of the 4 shops I went into 2 would not make me an offer at all, due to the lack of hallmarks, and the other 1 shop made a very low offer on these items, even though they were worth more than than the English gold. Welch's kept the items for about an hour whilst they tested them and then offered me the full UK price for 18ct gold. My middle eastern gold was worth 3 times what the other shop had told me. They were completely honest and straight forward, I will most certainly go back there again if I want to buy something.
