Had a service and MOT done by Hilsea Tyres in June. They told me the car had failed the MOT on 2 items; they repaired/replaced these items, serviced the car and the car then passed the MOT and a certificate was issued. Incidentally the MOT was done by P Goodspeed of M & N Autos of HIlsea, and not Hilsea Tyres, although their website suggests they do MOTs (presumably they are not a registered MOT tester).
Only 6 weeks later, another car repair garage identified very serious corrosion in the rear subframe, advised me that the car was unsafe to drive, a potential MOT failure, and that they could not understand how the problem was not identified by the MOT tester.
When I complained, a Bob Weir from Hilsea Tyres has consistently denied that they (or the MOT tester) were responsible for the error, preferring to try to blame the other garage for damaging the subframe, which was simply not the case.

This was not the case as the corrosion was not visible by us at Hilsea tyres as it was on the top of the chassis underneath the engine and even the mot inspector couldn't see it . We offered to put it right but he couldn't get the car to us .so then we offered to pay for the subframe as a good will gesture as no mot station would have ever picked it up as of where it was .it was only when another garage took the gearbox out to do a clutch that's when it was visible . so are good will gesture was very reasonable but some people are greedy and he was not happy with it . But we had no contact from vosa the mot regulator so we are confident it wasn't are faults and done are most to keep a customer happy but you can't please all customers and even the other garage said in his own comment above it might be an mot fail not it was .....................................................................................................................................................................
