An excellent and attractive completion of a re-thatch on the south west facing aspect of the house begun and ended on the exact pre-arranged specified dates.
Chris and his co-thatcher used traditional long straw necessary for a Grade 2 listed building.
On the north east facing aspect of the house, where a re-thatch was not necessary, they "dressed and swept" the thatch removing all the old unsightly moss before creating the traditional Eave pattern around and above the windows and bordering the new flush ridge that they created along the top of the thatch.
Front and back were rewired and it all looks better that it ever has done - and we've received comments from village residents complimenting us on the appearance of the house.
As a bonus we were pleasantly surprised when they cleared up every last piece of straw leaving the garden and passage way in the exact same state that they found it despite having stored the new straw in the garden.
