Phoned this shop and explained that I’d changed the glass in a picture frame because the old one was broken, but I wasn’t confident that it was fitted correctly, was advised to bring frame to their shop and they would have a look at it, after examining it they took out the glass and scraped out some dried bits of resin from frame edge, then offered the glass up to frame and it still looked a bit tight, so they took the glass out to the workshop at back of shop and skimmed a bit off the edge of glass, then brought it back and it fitted perfectly, I asked them what I owed them for their troubles, but they wouldn’t take anything, so I thought I would do the next best thing and post this as my thanks for their time and knowledge and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending their services to others who might need their expertise.

Had Reavey heating come to repair leak on downstairs elbow joint, plus install new radiator in lounge, Adam turned up to carry out the work, he’s a friendly guy who’s very methodical and has plenty of knowledge in general plumbing, the work was carried out efficiently and at a very competitive price, I would highly recommend him to others.

Recently ordered a lamb Dansak, have had this dish before many times and it’s always been delicious, however my latest experience wasn’t good, on first opening the lid on the Lamb Dansak I was surprised to see it covered in a light orange sauce, previously the sauce had been a deep red colour, so I took my first mouthful with apprehension, although the lamb was quite hot in curry strength, it totally lacked the full depth of flavour of previous dishes, I couldn’t detect any coriander in the lamb at all. I can only imagine they have had a change of chef’s. If my dish is an example of the quality of food they’re now serving up, I will be going elsewhere in future.

Very satisfied with the quality of service from Art blinds, from start to finish they completed the work efficiently and on time, their prices are very competitive with a high standard of workmanship, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to others

Ordered a mixed meats curry from this place last week, on opening it portions seemed very generous, on taste it wasn't full of salt like some places I've tried, so that was a plus, but the overall taste wasn't great, it could've done with more curry sauce with a slightly stronger flavour, the rice portion was huge, you could've easily shared it with someone. I think I've been quite generous in rating them with 3 stars, but I have to say the overall standard of chinese takeaways in The Basildon area is quite low, so on that basis they score average.

Oakdene carried out bodywork repairs to my Mazda sport, and I can say I'm completely satisfied with their work, they provide a friendly efficient service that would be difficult to beat on price. I highly recommend them.

Communication is a major factor in running a successful business, so why does Vodafone shop in Lakeside make it impossible to contact them by phone, I tried two sets of numbers supplied one started 088 the second one started 033, I ended up speaking to someone from their Belfast branch. What a ridiculous waste of my time.

With all the rave reviews this place has received I was eager to try them out, so I ordered sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style with special rice, I've ordered this dish from several other Chinese takeaways in the Basildon area, the meal was delivered on time, but unfortunately I was rather disappointed with the overall taste, the sweet and sour pork was rather bland, however the rice was good. To be honest this dish wasn't up to the standard of other takeaways I've tried in Basildon, so I'm puzzled how can so many people rate this place... perhaps the normal chef was on holiday or sick, on the day I ordered my food, and my meal was cooked by someone covering?

You can order a pint with some food and get plenty of change from £10, unfortunately this is rather let down by gestapo trained staff, who haven't learnt that providing a warm welcoming atmosphere encourages people to return. I have been in most of the pubs in the Basildon area, and while some may not be particularly good for food or have well designed interiors, they all shared one common factor, and that is they all created a warm welcoming atmosphere by friendly helpful staff.
