Chris has done numerous jobs for me, both in my own home and in several rental properties. He turns up on time, explains what is needed, and does good work. He will often suggest solutions which reduce the overall cost. I am happy to recommend his services.

I have used Athertons for about 10 years to carpet numerous rooms in several rental properties. They have a good range of choices and prices, and unlike some other shops who try to squeeze the maximum amount of money out of you, Athertons go out of their way to suggest more economical options when they think it will suit the property. Their carpet fitters do a good job, although one of the vinyl fitters was not so hot. I would recommend them for anyone who wants a good carpeting job at a fair price. In comparison, Terry's were a little cheaper - but their basic carpet which I had fitted some years ago wore through within a year and had to be replaced far too soon.

They claim to provide a 24-hour service, but did not answer the phone at 21.00.

I don't understand the 1-star review here - I can only guess that it was written by a rival or competitor. I and my guests have dined at the Indian Orchard several times in the past few years and the food and service were always first-class. The fact that the restaurant is often almost full speaks for itself. The prices are not the lowest in town, but you get what you pay for. The menu is extensive, and unlike some Indian chefs, this one doesn't overpower everything with too much garlic.

(April 2019) DON'T GO! IT ISN'T THERE! I walked 2 miles out of town, only to find a bridal shop in its place. The proprietor told me that the people running the carpet shop retired 2 years ago. Apparently they were too lazy to bother to take down their website, which is inconsiderate and unfair to customers.

I needed to get a statutory declaration witnessed. They offered an appointment within 1 day of my enquiry, and only charged £5 for witnessing my document, which is good value.
