Customer service - what's that?

I went to this shop for a locket as a Christmas present.
The owner showed me just one locket, without a chain and then broke off twice to deal with other customers.
He did not appear to take in anything I said.
He said he would have to source the chain from elsewhere and did not offer to show me any designs.
He was somewhat vague about delivery and price.
I eventually gave up trying to get through to him and left the shop.

5 days to fit a wing mirror

The wing mirror on my Mercedes was damaged and the insurance company asked me to use Brooklands instead of the main dealer. Took it to Brooklands on Monday and after examining it they asked me to bring it in the following Thursday at 9:30 which I did. Having heard nothing by Saturday I phoned and was told they had not yet fixed it but I should call back Monday. I checked with Mercedes who said that the parts were available from stock. Why does it take 5 days to replace a wing mirror? Mercedes said they could do it while I waited. So now my insurers are going to get a bill for 5 days of car rental as well as the repair which will be more than the main dealer quote. Insurers, NFU, are investigating.

I eventually discovered that the total bill for this repair which was paid by NFU was over £900 including the car hire. The Mercedes dealer would have charged me £312, done it in 2 days and given me another Merc as a courtesy car for free.
