Avoid!!! They pass unroadworthy cars for a back hander!!!

Bought a car from eBay. The seller advised us that it had a brand new MOT carried out by a garage owned by a good friend (this garage).
On viewing the car, we were appalled that the car had managed to pass at all.
No hazards lights, huge crack through windscreen, handbrake had to be pulled hard to get it to stick, one brake light not working, tread depth on back tyres were both under 1.6 and tubing in engine held together with copious amounts of duck tape where jubilee clips should have been.
Paid a deposit on the car on the proviso we would buy it if we took it for mot and it pass.
Needless to say, it failed miserably!!!
The garage we took it to put it in the emissions test first and the results where appalling.
