Double Locks is a favourite or mine, particularly in the summer. Actually only in the summer, considering it seems to close over the winter!

Located on the canal, hidden away down a very small road in the Industrial estate, and to get there you have to go for a mile, across some tiny bridges and a very small road. I advise you to leave the limo at home, the turns really are that tight!
Nicer to walk in the summer, or preferably cycle down the nice cycle way, or even get in the real spirit of things and boat it down, be it kayak, inflatable crocodile or V8 speedboat.

Nice selection of unusual drinks, although very expensive. Very friendly staff, and a very nice atmosphere, particularly outside on a hot evening.

You can also camp there too, for free as well, best to ask permission in the pub just to be polite tho.

Very nice pub in the heart of Crediton, fairly nice atmosphere, if a touch stuffy and posh. But one of the best Weatherspoons around.

Good choice of drinks as is expected from a WS chain pub. Quite good prices too if quantity is important to you too.

Food isnt bad, but can get quite busy on a Sunday for example.

Check the website for good offers or promotions, sometimes vouchers.

Parking isnt that easy in Crediton, and I would not advice you to bring the Bentley, the places where you can shove your wheels are not in the best of areas.

But it is in a great location, right in the centre of town and is perfect if you want to grab a drink and a snack if you are in town. Good choice of magazines if you want to waste 5mins 'browsing'. Perhaps even some shopping to last you a few meals if you missed something when you took the car, or perhaps you main shop if you have many rucksacks and strong arms. Alternatively just have lots of children, or bring all your relatives. Also stocks flowers for that emergency bunch of forgiveness!

Dont forget you clubcard, its basically 1% cashback!

Good quality local Pub, with a wide demographic, from under-age students of all the nearby public schools to more mature types. Nice atmosphere and décor, and usually very clean. Half the pub is posher, while the other is more a typical youth sports bar.

Choice of drink is not anything special, but the prices are not the worst in Exeter. Nice pool tables, and tvs for watching the sport, particularity all the England games (any sport!) and whenever the Grecians are playing (Exe city vs Man U was good fun :D)

Can get very busy as per any other pub on the usual nights, but as it is quite small this can get a bit annoying.

Im not a big enthusiast of coffee places, but Bostons is a nice place to put your feet-up in town. Downstairs is your typical busy and noisy coffee bar atmosphere, with the sound of enthusiastic chatter and steam machines in the kitchen. Up the stairs is a big room with lovely relaxed atmosphere, mostly thanks to its classic décor and about a million sofas! Power plugs also available up here too for all you students or showy writer types...

Good selection of snacks, hot and cold drinks. All priced how you expect, ie expensive! I recommend the Hot Choc, very yummy!

Okay so its 'just' a Cathedral some might say, but if you are spending a day in Exeter for whatever reason I urge you just to go have a look and take it all in. Very impressive engineering, and a beautiful piece of architecture.
Even more impressive if you go inside, brush aside the religious types, and see the works of art that are the stone pillars, roof and windows. Also funny to see an organ that looks like it could eat you house, never mind you car!

If you are religious then you may even get something else out of it, but from a purely Atheist viewpoint, I am quite taken aback by it!

Another chain store in Exeter, but surprisingly this one is quite nice.

Okay, so its not a typical dining experience, you may sit with random people, it can be very busy and noisy, you wont get you meal at the same time as others with you and you will wait for ages if you dont have the guts to get the waiters attention when you are finished. BUT, the food seems to be good quality, freshly made (hence why each meal takes a different time to make) and reasonably priced.

Register on their website for great deals, competitions, desktops etc and most importantly vouchers! Usually a 2for1 so worth the ink for the printer! You also get free green tea, as well as the usual tap water so you can save can by skimping on the drinks too! Tea is lovely IMO!

Great cinema showing a great mix of mainstream blockbusters, arthouse and foreign films. So even if you dont know whats on you should be able to easily find something you like the look of.

Picture quality cannot compare to the more recent cinemas of Exeter, such as Vue, and the sound can be terrible, but it has an atmosphere all the other big players lack.

Great selection of slightly overpriced snacks and drinks, but you can get a beer at the upstairs bar, and take it into the screen if you wish!

Prices for the films are a bit expensive, but go on a Orange Wednesday for 2for1 and everyone is happy!

Exeter Odeon is just a branch of the Odeon cinema chain, located in Exeter, all in very nice classic cinima building. Trivia: if you look at the steps you can still see the chips from a bomb that blew up a building accross the street in WW2!

Shows almost all the latest films, and quite often has themed midnight showings of the big blockbusters.

Usual selection of snack food and toilet facilities. Usually clean, but some screens can be a bit messy on a busy weekend or holiday period.

The Dominos Pizza of Exeter is the same as any other Dominos Pizza in the rest of the country, even the world. Same usual large selection, not at all good for you but still quite inexplicably tasty. Especially the (free!) dip with the crust.
Good student discounts, half price if you collect, and good delivery service if you are lazy.

Student tip: Buy a large, collect for half price. Eat half for dinner, save the other for breakfast and lunch the next day. Dont forget to put it in the fridge in between, and eat it cold, its surprisingly nice!
