Called them over because I couldn't get an overhead light to work. He came very promptly, which I appreciated, but stayed very briefly and gave me only one piece of advice: that the fitting was broken. I got no help in terms of how to go about replacing it, and was left with screws on the floor and exposed wires. I was charged £40 for having someone come out. When I went to fix it myself, the only thing he had told me (that the fitting was broken) turned out to be totally untrue. I called them to complain that I felt I had received no value for my £40, but he said there was nothing else he could have done. Which is clearly untrue, because I am in no way trained as an electrician and I managed to fix it. He also said that he didn't have the tools to do anything else, which I don't understand because surely the other point of calling an electrician is that in addition to expertise he or she brings the tools to get the job done?

Strongly would not recommend.
