This is called fraud.

I was charged 1.4 hours for a job that took 25 minutes to complete, start to finish.
I was also charged £72 for the use of the equipment to conduct the diagnostic. It's like going to a restaurant and being charged a fee for the use of their pans and pots to cook your meal.
This garage charges £100 per hour, plus a fee for using their tools, plus an environmental fee to dispose off stuff, even if there is nothing to dispose off. Such abnormalities should be clearly explained to potential customers, instead of surprising them at the end, with threats of not returning your vehicle.
To conclude, mine was an extremely simple repair. A good look at the engine by an experienced mechanic, would have immediately revealed that an essential wire right on top of the engine was disconnected. All that was done was to reconnect the wire with a drop of silicone and a zip tie and they managed to get £300 out of me for this. It's a joke! NEVER AGAIN!
