I feel very sorry for the bar staff. This was a great pub, but now just getting served is pretty hopeless. Fantastic location, perfect place for a summers evening drink. Trouble is, After our first pint, there were 21 people queuing in front of us and no prospect of getting served. The appeared to be only 4 staff on duty: two serving at the bar, one serving food to the tables and one collecting glasses. We gave up and went elsewhere.
I assume that like elsewhere it reflects a management decision to squeeze down on costs. Actually, it will simply reduce profits as thirsty punters vote with their feet.....
