We discovered last night that my favourite leather wing chair had sprung a spring. Since I paid £900
four years ago from Gillies, I didn't think that was something which should have happened. Before
I rang Gillies of Broughty Ferry from whence I bought the chair, I rang Chris at Nicols Upholstery
in Cupar for advice and he told me that he was in St Andrews this afternoon, would pop in and there would be no charge. Fantastic service. I thanked him and said that I was ringing Gillies because I wasn't happy and they are sending an upholstered next week to inspect the chair. Regardless of that, although Chris hasn't actually repaired anything for me, I can recognise him as a good guy. I commend Nicols Upholstery to everyone in the Cupar
and St Andrews area!

My wife and I bought Lexus cars from the outstanding Lexus Garage in Benton Road, Newcastle. During that time, we have experienced outstanding customer service from them, in particular from Dameon in Sales and Kevin in Service. To show our appreciation, we wanted to send a really nice bottle of wine to both of these guys. Since we live in St Andrews, more than 4 hours away, I rang Chillingham Wines and spoke to Cameron. He could not have been more helpful and recommended two very nice bottles of wine and said that he would put them each in a bottle bag, together with a message of thanks and would deliver them within an hour. What incredible service from Cameron and Chillingham Wines.
I cannot recommend them highly enough!

We have been using Caremore Laundry Services in Woodburn Terrace, St Andrews for years. They have been consistently excellent every time we have used them and I cannot commend then highly enough. The name is well chosen, because they do care more. The staff are always delightful and not only do they do a great job, but they also deliver the ironed items back to our house.

My wife had a walnut chest of drawers next to her bed and I brought her a hot toddy when she was in bed with 'flu. It was dark and I thought I was placing the toddy on a placemat, but it turned out to be a tissue. The hot toddy burned through the tissue and left a round, white mark. My wife was in despair because this had been a piece of furniture belonging to her parents, who are no longer with us.

I went to yell.com looking for a French Polisher and found Alex Nicoll of The Polishing Shop.
He was very good over the phone and when he was next in St Andrews, he called in to examine and price the job. He has just returned the bureau carcase and has done an amazing job, making it impossible to tell that work had been done on the chest of drawers.
