Visited companion care Enfield surgery to get my Degus overgrown teeth shortened. When I picked her up she was in a terrible condition with a sore swollen mouth, and teeth cut way too short so she was unable to eat. I had to force feed her recovery food for weeks. She was in lots of pain and distress but this was dismissed as her "just getting used to her teeth". I took my Degu to a vets with Degu specialist (east Barnet vet survey - highly recommend) and told me they had cut her teeth far too short and uneven.

Please avoid this vets if you have exotics/small animals. They are not experienced enough to treat these animals. Thankfully, my poor little Degu is fine after a month recovering, and is finally putting some of the lost weight back on.
