Catherine has worked hard to get to know what makes my child tick. Even when he is in the most negative of moods after a challenging day at school, he comes out of Catherine's lesson smiling and positive. She builds on what he already knows, consolidating it through practise and by developing it in a new way. This has encouraged a flexibility in his thinking and an increased belief in himself. The knock on effect of this is becoming more evident in the classroom where he is increasingly independent. He is less overwhelmed at school these days, by applying strategies Catherine has given him he feels more in control and has greater resilience. Catherine allows thinking time and importantly talking time which enables him to order his thoughts and try things out. I cannot stress enough what a difference these weekly lessons have made. despite the difficulties my son has with literacy and how exhausted he is at the end of a school day, he still absolutely loves going to Catherine.
