Had a screw in the tyre, went in and got seen straight away as it was empty. Very helpful Lad got to work on the screw and quoted me £15. Savvy with motors I was happy that was the going rate, all good. Second lad cycles in and asks how I would like to pay. I said card and then I got “that’ll be £30 by card or £20 cash”. I confirmed the agreed price was £15 given by lad 1. Lad 2 then said “yeh but that was for a quick fix, we’ve done a long term fix”. I didn’t have cash so he suggested I could go to a cash point. Fair enough lads if it’s a plug and a patch (which I can never prove without removing the tyre) but please explain the jump in £10 from cash to card.. I called his bluff and asked for card. The price then came down to £25.. Did this lad want a free lunch on me or does it actually cost £10 more through card like it did in 1996. £30, £25, £20 or £15 could be how much they charge for a screw in middle of your tyre, who knows.
