Bought several lots across several auctions from halfway and had a positive experience up until this year.

Participated in an auction and won a lot for £10. Auction house specified that lots must be collected by Friday the same week. I had a family emergency and contacted the auction house to inform them I wouldn’t be able to make it by Friday to pay&collect. They were unsympathetic and told me if I didn’t pay and collect by Friday then I would be banned from their future auctions. I thought this was unfair but it is their business to manage.

I was further disappointed to learn that they have listen me on the platform as a ‘non-payer’ which is affecting my ability to register for other auction houses and is now directly affecting my business. I feel this is unfair given their inflexibility and insensitivity considering my circumstances. I can’t give them a positive review as a result of this and will continue to advise people against using halfway auctions.
