Avoid at all costs!

This Pontins park is an absolute disgrace. We recently went there for a 4 night break but ended up coming back home after only being there 2 hours.
We went for a mid range apartment and it was disgusting. There was poo in the toilet, mould all over the curtains, the kitchen sink was disgusting and the windows hadn't had a clean in what seems like a very long time!
We took our 4 children up to have something to eat at the onsite pub while we decided what to do about the apartment. Firstly, we couldn't sit in the actual pub itself as it was all reserved for half board guests (we went self catering) so we had to sit in the fun factory area where all the children were running about (I don't hold that against the kids at all, after all it was their area).
I went to the bar to order our food and found that there was only a choice of 3 meals for the kids which was either sausages & chips, chicken nuggets & chips or fish fingers & chips. For the adults there was only a choice of 4 things. When our food came we weren't happy either. My husband and I had chosen fish as it was the only thing there we liked but it looked like it had been left in the deep fat fryer for way too long as it was burnt and swimming in grease.
This was the final straw for us and we went to reception to complain. They offered us a free upgrade of apartment but they didn't have any available on the ground floor which was no good for us as we have a disabled child. In the end we told them that we were going home and wanted a full refund.
The reception area was packed with people and every one of them was complaining about the park. I really wish that I had read reviews before we booked as I could have saved us all having to sit in the car for 5 hours and saved the kids from being disappointed so my advice is do not go to this park at all.

Very helpful staff

I shop in M&S regularly, partly because I like most of their clothes but also because I feel like a valued customer (even when I'm having a "scruffy" day and don't look anywhere near my best!).
Every member of staff I have had dealings with have been very helpful & friendly and the checkout staff I have seen always greet customers with a smile & hello.
Staff in the changing rooms are also very helpful and are always happy to go retrieve another size if needed.
The only downside for me is that the children's section rails are a little close together in areas and it makes it a little more difficult to push my daughters specialised buggy around there.

Great prices but service could improve

To me, you can't beat Sports Direct on price and they do have quite a good range. However, navigating a wheelchair around the shop (even a buggy) is a nightmare as they have clothing rails so close together. Also the staff, mainly consisting of young people, are not the most friendly and always look so bored to be there. I think I can honestly say I have never seen any of the staff smile at a customer and they do have a habit of chatting to each other and ignoring you while you stand there waiting on them finishing their chat to ask for their help.

Great service

I have used Clarks countless times but our most recent visit is the one that really stands out.
I took our disabled 3 year old daughter in to see about getting some shoes (these were basically for decoration/safety as she cannot walk). I explained to the saleslady that our daughter had a habit of curling her toes and would need shoes that were wide enough for us to be able to get our finger into so we could straighten them.
Straight away she started talking to our daughter and didn't just ignore her as many others have done just because she cannot communicate back.
After measuring our daughter, the saleslady returned with some shoes to try. None of these were really suitable for us getting our fingers into and the saleslady suggested Doodles instead.
These worked perfectly for our daughter and we were very pleased with the helpfulness of the staff.

Not overly impressed

I have been a member of Mecca for quite some time now and have found that the Mecca club in Crewe is not as good as some of the other Mecca clubs that I've been to.
The staff don't seem to smile much and have not been overly helpful to me. Infact one member of staff was pretty rude to me when I handed over a discount voucher I had for the Crewe club. I had the voucher thrown back over the counter at me and was told that I could not use the voucher that night even though it did not state this on the voucher.
I must say that I hardly ever go here anymore even though I live in Crewe as there is a much better atmosphere at the Chester & Wrexham Mecca clubs.

Excellent service!

I was recently looking for sheets of toughened glass to put in the vivarium I am building for my bearded dragon. After a few silly quotes from other companies, I spoke to someone at South Cheshire Glass. They were so helpful and also by far the cheapest! They had no problems at all cutting the glass to the exact size I needed and when I had a problem collecting the glass in my car, they told me they could deliver it for free that afternoon!
I will be using South Cheshire Glass again in the near future and would fully recommend them to anyone.
