Give false information and not competitively priced

They offered their best price for a Honda mower which was not competitive. I asked the salesman to explain why I should not buy from the Internet at a much cheaper price. He explained that if I buy from the Internet I cannot get warranty work done with him so if it goes wrong I must ship it back to the selling dealer. I questioned whether Honda UK were ok with that and he said yes they back him on that giving example of someone who bought in Scotland and had an issue with the auto choke failing, he would not touch it and Honda backed him. I phoned Honda who said the warranty is Europe wide and I can take to any of its dealers who will repair it and could not comment why this dealer would say such a thing. What a shambles!

I regret that I have to apologise for this blunder on our part which, unfortunately, was caused by advice being given by an inexperienced member of staff. He was correct in advising that we are not in a position to carry out warranty repairs to new machines purchased elsewhere on the internet, but he did not realise that this policy does not apply to Honda mowers as we do carry out warranty repairs to them irrespective of where they are purchased. Nevertheless, I would like to confirm that we are competitive but do not sell new machines in boxes or crates. We supply new machinery fully assembled, adjusted and tested with full operating/safety instructions and free delivery in most cases. This policy explains why we will not consider matching non 'like-for-like' prices found on the internet. I also believe that it would be very unfair and unprofessional of us to sell you machines at lower prices than customers that have willingly purchased from us at a higher price. The manager (CGM).
