What a great pub!

I first visited this pub after a friend recommended it to me. He’d attended a beer tasting there with SA Brains on the day they launched their new menu. He’s been very impressed with the service and the new menu and had been talking about it for a while so I decided to pop in and see what he was going on about.
I was not disappointed.
The pub is huge, with a upper level dining room and a large outdoor terrace for drinking next to the river. It was cold when we were there but the heaters under their umbrellas were sufficient enough to keep us warm. The staff were very friendly and the staff certainly knew their stuff. The guy who served us knew a lot about the local and national ales and we watched him take the time to explain about Cask Ales to a group of American tourists who must have sampled and then bought every type of ale that they had on their pumps. They have 12 ales in total ranging from local Sambrookes and Fullers to national and regional brews such as Thornbridge and Brains.
We didn’t eat at the pub but the food that was coming out from their kitchen looked and smelt amazing.
I’ll definitely be back soon and this pub is certainly worth a visit if you are on the river path!
