On 1st August 2025, I brought my classic for a mot at 8:30am. By 8:40, I received a phone call saying they couldn’t proceed because they “couldn’t open the passenger side door.”
I returned straight away to find out what was going on. The woman behind the counter told me the MOT tester couldn’t get the door open, so they couldn’t carry on. I was completely confused.
I asked for my keys and invited her outside. I unlocked the car using the key fob and opened the door, no issue at all. She looked blankly at me and said, “Well, what did you do?” I explained I used the fob and the handle like any normal person would.
Instead of admitting the error, she started making excuses. By then, I’d “lost my MOT slot,” and they refused to carry on. At that point, I told them to forget it—if your mechanic can’t figure out how to open a car door, I’m not trusting you with anything more complicated.
Appalling customer service, zero professionalism, and apparently no basic mechanical skills.
