Great location
Great location for a restaurant, must be fantastic on a summers evening. Sadly the food is not good, the service is unfriendly and to top it off it is expensive. However go just for the venue.

Once great
This is a poor example of a chain that has slipped progressively over the years (although the smoking ban may help). There decaf coffee is a testimony to disinterest, should be tried just to see how bad it can get. Have you no pride?

A dingy, poky little cafe in an otherwise good location. Doesn't have the quality of Costa but sadly it still retains the ludicrous pricing.

Hoar Cross Hall Health Spa
I had heard good things about this Health Spa but they were not matched by the two speculative visits I have made. The place seems like an anachronism. The new health centre was a step in the right direction but the beautiful 19th century manor has been blighted with some bizarre decorating choices, e.g. its Roman columns and statues near the gyms (which seemed like small fusty rooms with equipment in them as opposed to an enjoyable place to work out). The restaurant was the 'tablecloth and napkins' type, I didn't eat there but didn't feel compelled to either. Lovely grounds though. I would be interested in reading other people's impressions, I came away with a feeling of slightly sad delusion of grandeur.

Rockstop
I have been using this shop since the 1980s. They are a good bunch of guys and you will get an honest appraisal of the instrument your interested in. Prices aren't bad either (if you've done your research). The way shops should be run.

Good but declining
A nice Costa with plenty of space and friendly staff. Nantwich is also a lovely place to visit. However there seems to have been a change in direction at Costa during the recession and they have opted for some cost cutting. I have experienced some pretty dreadful americanos being produced (weak and tasteless). Sadly this is the case with the Nantwich branch. Not up to the standards of old!

Caffe Nero
One of the worst Cafe Nero's I have been to. A hole in a wall with the ambience to go with it. Go round the corner to Costa much nicer cafe and better coffee

On the cusp of change?
I wouldn't want to right off this place as I believe it has a new owner who is trying to add a bit of life. However the atmosphere on a cold Thursday night was flat lining. When I walk into the bar everyone (all 4 people) stopped and looked at me. I shuffled into the lounge, which was decorated like a 1930's living room and had a slightly below average ale.

On the positive side the barmaid was very friendly and you could see that work was going on to add a eating area. So maybe I caught it on a bad day and it is heading for better days.

I will revisit and see how it progresses but pubs need more than a handful of locals to survive these days.

Nice building, nice cafe
A really nice Costa, mainly due to the fabulous building it is housed in. It also has lovely big windows at the front where you spend time people gazing. As with a lot of Costa Coffees these days it is a little dirty and the seats are a bit shabby but you still get a reasonable coffee in a nice environment. As a general comment it would be nice if the chain varied their food a little and supplied some more child friendly fare.

One in a million
What a great institution! I have been going there since the early 80s and the coffee has always been great. As I moved to decaf I was impressed by the taste and quality of their products. I throw down the gauntlet and say, 'you won't get a better decaf in Britain'. The staff can seem a little disparaging at times but perceiver as it is only one or two, most are very pleasant and helpful.

The pastries and other food are also of a very high standard although a little on the pricey side but you are paying for the best.

The only negative would be the seating. Some people think 4 people on an A3 sized table is quaint. Myself I prefer to relax with my coffee and not be crunched up on a hard pine seat with no where to put your pastry.

Under used for a good gym
Maybe because it is so big but the gym feels a little underused. This is a shame because it is a nice gym and the staff a responsive to problems and suggestions. The users seem quite pleasant and I like the fact that it is quite multi-cultural and the mix of male and female is not too out of balance.

Certainly one of my favourite Fitness Firsts and I have been to a few
