Quality!!!

You get what you pay for, and over the years I've found the style and quality at Kurt Geiger is unsurpassed. The staff are extremely helpful, and so very patient in helping customers decide on the right style and size. We always have a good shopping experience at the Trafford Centre, and look forward to our next visit.

Gabby's Chippy
Bridlington | Fish and Chip Shops and Restaurants
The best chippy in Brid
5
The best chippy in Brid, and one of the best in Yorkshire. We always look forward to eating at Gabby's, the food is super. The fish is always just perfect, moist, flaky and creamy, with lovely batter. The portions are massive and always keep us full right through the rest of the day. The staff are great, there's a real family friendly atmosphere and we can't wait until our next visit.

Lots to see and do

Without a doubt our favourite bit was feeding the Humboldt penguins, that really was memorable for us all. The zoo is only small, but there's lots of information available about the animals. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again next time we're in the area, unfortunately though as we visited during October most of the flower beds had been dug up, we've heard that the walled gardens are stunning during the summertime so we'll return again. In recent years the house has been refurbished and the staff took the time to explain what they'd been doing and told us about the original owners that used to live there. There's a small exhibition of Amy Johnson memorabilia, which we found interesting. The collection of souvenirs and mementos on display were donated by Amy's father, and we discovered that he also helped her to buy her very first plane, we felt that we got to know Amy that bit better and learnt more about the mystery surrounding her death, though the whole truth may never be known. Definitely worth a visit.

An absolute gem - such fun!

Just delightful miniature village and tiny people. At first glance it looks like a very small village and we really didn't think there was going to be enough to occupy the family. But once we started the quiz which you can pick up free on entry, we were engrossed and ended up walking around the village several times, and that's when we really noticed the attention to detail in the models, and the lovely harbour and miniature trains. We were amazed to find we'd actually spent nearly two hours looking at the village! Then we visited the tea room, where we had the most beautiful home made cake and scones. Really good value for money and once you've paid the entry fee, you have free parking and can walk up to the north beach at no extra cost, we really enjoyed ourselves.

The Gin Garden
5
This is such a super stylish bar with top class service. We adore the Gin Garden at the New Ellington, serving an impressive selection of over 300 gins, it's an absolute gem for gin lovers. Drinks are served in quality glasses with huge snooker ball size ice cubes infused with various berries or herbs, gorgeous garnishes, and an extensive range of tonic waters to compliment the gins. We were bowled over by how knowledgeable the staff are about the different gins. Will return time and time again with friends. Dress up, it's classy!

Terrific!

Heart warming, a lovely place to spend the day with the kids, Hope Pastures will always bring a smile to your face. The staff are so caring and all the animals well looked after despite having been abandoned or mistreated or being ready to retire. We like the visitor centre which is open every weekend, along with a cuppa there's arts and crafts and apple bobbing for the kids, and of course the pony rides which are a definite winner. Calm and tranquil, a smashing charity that re-home horses, donkeys and ponies that have suffered abuse. A hidden treasure in Weetwood Leeds, free entry, but do make a donation!

Wharfe Meadows Park
Otley | Parks and Gardens
Picturesque park and play area

Lovely, picturesque park and play area near the river Wharf with surrounding views of the church and hills. Super activity playground, with climbing, sliding and spinning things, but be prepared as the children may get a little wet on the Archimedes Screw water feature. Well maintained gardens with wild fowl, swans, geese and ducks which can be fed, the nearby cafe sells bread for the ducks. There are outdoor toilets near the play park, the toilets are rather smelly though and we prefer the city centre loos which are super clean, with a small charge of 30p per person. Lovely park, we love visiting Otley!!!

We always make a point of visiting the North Bar before heading over to the Grand Theatre or the West Yorkshire Playhouse. With a good selection of craft beers from Germany and Belgium, tequila and whiskeys, friendly and knowledgeable staff, cosy and relaxing atmosphere, perfect go to, for meeting up with friends before a performance.

Regrettably not for us

Pretty nursery rooms with fairy tale embellishments, warm welcome and friendly staff, but I did not feel confident that the Victorian nursery is suitable for our baby with the cramped rooms and small garden unlikely to offer sufficient space and opportunities for exercise and with all the evidence now that being sedentary during those first five years increases the risk of poor health later on, is it worth the risk? Another disappointing nursery viewing, we will keep on looking for the best for our darling boy.
