I instructed John Hughes for a purchase, gave him information I needed replies to before the survey, none of which were addressed in the survey. Had to pay an extra £90 for a market valuation which he did not give. Survey caused me to raise 9 enquiries on it and now 9 days later of ringing, emailing and leaving voicemails I have had absolutely nothing back from him at all. I am left up in the air and have to employ yet another surveyor to repeat it. Went back and checked a buy to let one I had off John last year to find the artex ceiling on the landing of the top flat which is badly damaged was not even mentioned. I believe he only mentioned all the artex ceilings in the latter survey because I had a survey carried out and sent him the results. I do not believe he knew artex could contain asbestos which this latter property has some artex containing asbestos. No wonder you have to pay him up front!!!
