Can you hire a car to take abroad?

Yes, some car hire companies let you pay a ‘cross-border’ fee when you pick your car up. This means you can take your hire car abroad while also extending your hire car’s basic damage, theft and third-part protection to make it valid in another country. Just make sure you take your valid UK driving license with you. You will also need a VE103 certificate .

Do hire cars come with sat nav?

Not usually unless it is stated in the agreement or is part of your car hire package. Many hire companies will provide a sat nav as an added extra. Alternatively, you could think about buying one before your trip, or downloading a sat nav app on your smartphone for less.
