Zap Garage Doors Ltd

4-month old lock failed in a new door supplied by Zap. It was a Friday night at 6pm and Zap don’t have out of hours coverage, so we had to arrange a locksmith. Locksmith confirmed product was faulty and replaced lock. Zap won’t pay the call out fee and replacement lock. Hiding behind the fact they buy the lock from another supplier but won’t tell me who that is. My contractors with Zap not their supply chain and I have been firm in telling them I will not accept being dismissed. Zap now refuse to answer calls or emails and accused me of bullying and bl@ckmail when I told them I would write a poor review. I will be reclaiming money through small claims court, as the lock shouldn’t have failed within 4-months.

First impressions were that the fitters had made a resonable job however after closer inspection I noticed that the spring adjustment grub screws were missing. the top center bracket of th door frame was not fitted, you could see through the mastic,and the upvc trims were not straight. the door was fitted 6th July 2016 and since that date I have contacted Zap Garage Doors York a total of 4 times with out any responce. I have fitted a bracket to the door casing myself, repaired the mastic, and I am currently trying to get the correct grub screws from Hormann the company who manufacture these garage doors, the upvc trims I will have to live with.
I am very dissapointed with the after sales service of this company and would advise any one thinking of replacing their garage door to give this firm a wide berth.
