Yorkshire Cat Rescue Charity Shop

Friendly, wide range of stuff, centrally located, parking on Cavendish Street, near other charity shops (!) and bus station. Money goes to Cats who have been neglected, etc., to pay for vets' bills, food, etc. etc.. Their stock changes quickly so it's worth re-visiting and it's always good value.

The variety and quality of goods available is remarkable, and the shop is staffed by friendly and very helpful volunteers. Always a joy to visit and browse in.

Be aware of the perfume boxes they try to sell. I wanted to buy a perfume (£9.99) and asked them to show me what there was in the box. The box wasn't sealed and it had been opened before. the shop manager refused and told me with her sarcastic smile that I should pay for the risk what I tried to buy. It was clear for me that the box was filled in with something else not perfume. I advise to replace the shop manager otherwise the shop will be closed very soon.

Well worth a visit to this charity shop with an added bonus that you are assisting the welfare of cats needing homes when you purchase something. I find regular visits are key as always something new on offer. Excellent selection of items (household and clothing) in a well organised shop. I found the paid and volunteer staff friendly and helpful should you require assistance. Would highly recommend if you enjoy browsing in the hope of finding a bargain. Parking available on the main road if you are lucky, large car park just across the main road, the shop is also situated very close to the bus station.
