Frustrating experience

My husband and I, along with two friends booked a taxi into York this evening. We wanted to go to the Star in the City on Lendal bridge. The driver, who was clearly not from these parts, took us right through town and dropped us off on the corner of Ouse bridge and we had to walk right down Coney street and lendal to get to our destination. It would have been quicker to catch a bus! What made matters more annoying was when the driver asked my husband which way he wanted to go! Surely, a taxi driver should know the best way to a destination without having to ask the customer. May I suggest that, in future, you employ local drivers who know the area

Very unreliable, poor customer support and rude staff.

App used the wrong address called up to confirm and said the right address. Later called as no taxi showed up and was told us we gave them the wrong address and it would be 20 mins, still no taxi showed up and was told was it would be at least 15 mins. We eventually cancelled and got a bus. Overall very unreliable, poor customer support and rude staff.

Ordered taxi, came and told driver was just going inside to get my baby. Driver then drove off. Called desk to say what just happened, operator abusive and very rude, said driver had been sat outside 10 minutes, complete lie. Used this company for years, will definitely after this experience never use again.

Excellent when visiting York

Used twice when visiting York for 5 days. Arrived last Thursday to find a huge taxi queue outside the station so rang York Cars when I saw their no. on one of their cars which was dropping a customer off. Our driver was arriving as we went to the pickup point plus they send helpful text messages giving reg no. and timings. Pleasant and chatty driver. So we didn’t hesitate to use them again from our hotel for our return to the station yesterday. Arrived punctually and text messages as before. Traffic was awful but our driver knew a quicker route and we were there in plenty of time. Again helpful and pleasant driver so can’t fault the service.

Ordered a taxi from home to town. It arrived at the stated time. The driver was really friendly, pleasant and chatty. I was pleased to receive texts when the car set off and again when it arrived outside my house. One text even told me what car it was, very reassuring for a woman! I will use this company again.
