These always make a beautiful element in any garden; large or small!
Interesting and fragrant patterns of evergreen Lavender, box and Cotton Lavender
superb combination of grasses, herbaceous perennials and shrubs to give all year interest! Taken in summer. The border in the owner (John Massey) his garden; which is open on special open-days and well-worth a visit!
Gardens should be and can be interesting all year round!
This superb sculptural hedge can be made of various evergreens; such as box, holly, yew, privet and why not even deciduous shrubs such as berberis, forsythia, beech, spiraea....
This hedge is made of a small leaved evergreen holly called: Ilex aquifolium 'Alaska'
Here the main colour is from Sedum spectabilis and Kaffir Lily (Schizostylis coccinea). There are so many plants to choose from to have colour all year round!
As an ex qualified florist I like colour, smell and texture! Here the round global shape of Echinacea and the vertical shape of the Panicum-grass! Musa ('banana') in the background provides summer-exotic touch!
Why make expensive raised beds if you can recycle material? It is fun, sustainable and wildlife friendly! Also a home-made bench and screen in the background made from Hazel.
The turf-wall was built with turfs lifted from the side to establish raised vegetable-beds for this school-garden.
This idea has been practised by many large gardens in order to get rid of their vast amount of prunings each year! It breaks down naturally and is beneficial for lost of insects, mammals and birds ad can even be used as a structure for annual climbers such as sweet-peas, nasturtium and gourds!
Clever use of Herbaceous perennials which make an easy maintenance garden.

More than mere magic.

During recent months Yoke has transformed my somewhat chaotic garden.

I am looking forward to the spring and am confident that all will be wonderful.

I would be totally lost without Yoke, her extensive knowledge and hard work have given me the confidence to step into the garden occasionally but as one who has been known to cultivate weeds in pots I do what I am told. I am allowed to mow the lawn but I wouldn't venture into borders without her.
I really can't wait for the spring to come.

Truly lovely

Yoke has transformed my dull uninteresting garden into one where butterflies etc. are in abundance. It is colourful and well stocked and we will continue to use her services into the future. She is always punctual and works the whole of the time,doesn't even have a tea break!! Her advise and knowledge are amazing-well worth her fee.
