All ages and grades welcome. Beginners welcome.

Jamie has trained in karate since 2001 aged 7, he was awarded his black belt aged 10, 2nd Dan aged 12, 3rd Dan aged 15, 4th Dan aged 21 and he successfully graded for his 5th Dan in November 2019.

Jamie is a Registered Senior Instructor with the British Wado Federation, Certificate Number- 093-169.

As well as his Wylam Institute classes Jamie runs after school classes at Crawcrook, Heddon, Darras Hall and Prudhoe schools.

Jamie holds a Level 3 Certificate in Higher Sports Leadership and a Level 3 OCR National Diploma in Sport as well as Karate Coaching Certificates. He is DBS (Old CRB) Registered and fully insured

Amazing club

I thought it was time for me to update my review from a couple of years ago. It's still an amazing club - going from strength to strength. Everyone, no matter your Karate experience or lack of it; no matter how old or young you are; no matter if you are outgoing or shy.... absolutely everyone is welcome. Sensei Jamie and his team of black belts get the very best out of all students in a wonderful and supportive environment. This is more than a karate club its a family. If you are thinking about trying karate there is no better place to experience it !

Jamie is a fantastic instructor my son has only being going for a few weeks and he absolutely loves it! He feels like he is learning a lot and is always full of chat about everything he’s done. Great family run club. 100% recommend!

Phenomenal club; fabulous instructors; fantastic Karate sessions

If you have ever wanted to give karate a try this is the club for you. It's such a welcoming and inclusive club with excellent tuition for all ages and all abilities. There is something about this club that's special. Is it that Jamie provides such a positive environment for learning - everyone loves him? or is it that the classes are amazing as he manages to get the very best out of everyone? Or could it be that the gradings are all carried out professionally, supportively and positively, providing everyone with the opportunity to be their very best? I think it's all of these things that makes this a really wonderful club.

Incredible Karate Club and phenomenal instructor

No matter who you are, what age you are or your level of fitness, Jamie Carroll’s karate club in Wylam is perfect for you. He welcomes people from all walks of life and everyone loves his lessons.
Jamie is a supportive, enthusiastic and professional instructor who brings out the best in his students. His approach to teaching my son over the last few years has really helped him gain confidence as well as skills in karate.
Not only does he run his great club on Monday and Friday evenings, he also is available to run school sessions in both Northumberland and Newcastle. I also have experience of this and cannot recommend him highly enough.
Don’t hesitate to contact him and give this a go!
