Kate and Matt Owen are the owners of Wrought in the Port.

We are committed to providing our customers with top quality wrought iron gates, railings, furniture and sculptures.

All of our work is handmade to order at our workshop in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

The business was established in 2002 and since then we have expanded into larger premises and built a strong reputation for quality, reliability and friendly service.

Much of our work these days comes via recommendation from satisfied customers. We work in partnership with the local council on a number of important projects including alleyway gating and security fencing.

We work using a combination of modern and traditional designs and techniques. We have an impressive portfolio of designs to choose from (please visit our website or Facebook page) and we are always pleased to welcome new ideas or to work from our customers' own drawings and photographs.

This bed is from our 'Kinky Beds' range of dungeon furniture - the rings are optional!
Simple but effective; these Spanish-style railings which kick out at the base also work very well on Juliet balconies.
This chair was made as part of a set of four with a matching table and bench. It was galvanized and powder-coated to protect it from the elements.
These railings are very attractive and the design works well either free-standing on posts or wall-mounted. The decorative features can either be highlighted (as shown in the picture) or left black for our more conservative customers.
An alternative to a standard pair of gates; the single gate and panel is ideal for customers who do not require vehicular access. We can also manufacture unequal pairs of gates so the small one is used for pedestrians but the other half can be opened fully if a car needs to get onto the drive.
These heavy-duty, decorative gates were powder-coated in RAL 3004 to match our customer's new car!
These gates and railings are another very popular design. This set was made using hammered and twisted steel bars but we have also made many sets with smooth steel which look very attractive.
Modelled here by my sister's dog Marley, this dog bed was commissioned as a prop for the 2006 Russell Crowe film 'A Good Year'. After we had made it we passed it on to the set designer who dressed it with an ostentatious leopard-skin mattress and silk curtains around the the top!
These gates are based upon another of our most popular designs; we also made a matching set of tall side gates for the customer's driveway.
This panel is 5ft tall and was a present for my Mum's 60th birthday. She loves all things Rennie Mackintosh and the rose design is her favourite. The panel was made using smooth round bar and was powder-coated in graphite grey. The stained-glass elements were hand-painted on acetate.
These railings were made with smooth bars, open twists and fleur-de-lys safety finials. The customers also ordered a matching set of driveway gates and a tall side gate.

Matt and Katie made some WONDERFUL gates for our property, with a bit of 'difference' from anything off the shelf. We would certainly recommend Wrought in the Port , and us then again for any metalwork etc. Grand job!

Highly recommended wrought iron work

Fantastic, Matt and Kate came out to view our property they offered professional and constructive advise on a fence and gate that would be ideal yet in keeping with our property. The planning and communication was faultless,the installation was completed with no fuss or mess, leaving the site clean and tidy.

A great team, extremely competitively priced and extremely recommended.
