Word Steps Speech & Language Therapy

We are a bilingual family and Anna has provided support for our 9 year old daughter since she was 4 with her English by means of assessments, therapy and overall advice. This has helped my daughter enourmously. Anna is a highly qualified and enthusiastic professional, and we are extremely grateful to her. I would't hesitate in recommending her.

I cannot rate Anna highly enough. She has worked with us and our boy, aged 9, who suffers with Selective Mutism, an anxiety related condition which prevents him from speaking socially and at school. She has spent time with him and supported us and the school with strategies that have resulted in a boy who had terrible difficulties just going into school now running into the playground and playing happily with all his friends, taking part in lessons and becoming more and more confident in every day life. She has a wealth of experience and expertise in Selective Mutism and having her support has made a real difference to us.

Anna is our second SLT, she was amazing.

Before she came, I was very confused about my girl's language development. The NHS SLT said she was fine and no longer need further therapies. But she only has 20 words at age of half two, Anna told me, although she will catch up, but yet she didn't, that is the very first time I felt being understood by someone finally.

She can always bring me lots of ideas about playing with kids, she can also quantitatively tell me how will my girl develop, (I think this is very very special and important). after few months therapies, my girl was totally changed, she is now not that sensitive and becomes outgoing, now we finished our therapy, but my daughter still miss her very much. I am so grateful for her help.

She is very friendly and responsible, I think all people talked to her will know what I mean.

My 9 year old son had a lateral lisp and struggled with ‘Th’ sounds. Anna worked with him over six sessions which were fun and interesting and provided exercises for us to continue with, between her visits. We have seen a huge improvement with his speech and my son is much more confident and happier. I am so glad we contacted Anna for help and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her.
