Whiteleys Cleaners

A very disappointing experience. 2 dresses taken in to be altered in length yet having picked them up and been charged £50 neither looked like anything had be done. I even tried them on to make sure they knew how much to take off - but there was no way what I picked up was correct.

I used Whiteleys in Clapham Old Town for the first time today and was impressed with the friendly, personable, efficient and professional service offered. The staff were extremely helpful when I wanted a dress shortened and weren't impatient when I dithered! They suggested the length they felt would l look best, and even guessed the exact measurement that was to be taken off before getting the measuring tape out! I will be using them again and recommend their services to anyone wanting alteration services.

I have now decided not to go there anymore. In 1 Year or so, they have damaged 3 items.
The shirt ironing service is extremely poor; shirts have crease everywhere.
Cheap but you get what you pay for... no attention to detail and poor customer service.

Terrible! I took my wedding dress there to be dry cleaned. The first clean came back still badly stained and I was told that it was unlikely the stains would be removed. I then said that this wasn't really acceptable, I wasn't told this would be the case at the time and having paid £100 I expected that the dress would come back clean and in good condition. Whiteleys therefore agreed to clean it again. It came back the second time still stained and I was told that was the best they could do. I went away disappointed but unfortunately did not inspect the dress properly at that time. I did so recently and have seen that the dress has tears and holes all the way round the bottom. I could not believe that this was not notified to me and having taken it to another dry cleaners they advised that this was likely to be caused by an abrasive cleaning agent and/or putting the dress in with another dress with beading. It is now completely ruined and I have paid for the privilege. Do not use!

Left my dress with them for a routine dry cleaning.
Received it a week later with no signs of cleaning, they only keep the clothes for some time, no cleaning done!
