Business overview

We have established our reputation by providing an exceptional service at an affordable cost.

Throughout the past 130 years five generations of the Uden family have been providing help and assistance to bereaved families in this area.

Established by William (Walter) Uden in 1881, we now have premises throughout South East London and Kent. Many of our staff have been with us for all their working life, whilst new members are trained in the traditional values that have served us well for the last century.

Each of our branches is under the care of a “Mr. Uden” and whenever possible one of them will arrange or be present at the funeral to ensure our high standards of quality and service are maintained.

Respectful and Comforting Funeral

5
Following the death of my mother recently I felt I was just having to perform one painful task after another. However, I have to say that the Eltham branch of Uden's provided one of the very few positive experiences of that whole time. They steered me in the right direction when I was unsure what to do for the best. They coped admirably on the day of the funeral itself when it was raining and the preceeding funeral overran. Everyone did their job with respect and professionalism. I cannot thank them enough.

express my gratitude

Dear Trevor from W. Uden & Sons funeral directors,

I would like to express my gratitude to you and your colleagues for everything you did for Geoff, for me, for family and friends from his death to his eventual funeral service and burial. In particular I would like to express my gratitude for your great patience with my indecisiveness, for your efficiency and for the respect and understanding that I was given. I also felt the Pall Bearers honoured Geoff and gave him all the dignity he deserved and I will always be grateful for how beautifully they conducted themselves during the funeral and burial. Both the service and the burial went so well. I really felt that we did Geoff justice and Udens as funeral directors played an incredibly important role in that. Fr. Philip also thought that Adrian and the pallbearers were all fantastic.

Kind Regards

Belinda Dench
