Wonderful first visit with friends, a fabulous selection of plants on display, all super healthy! Staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful too. Cafe did a glorious coffee cake and we shall be back! ♥️

Best garden centre in Sheffield

Quite simply the best garden centre in Sheffield! We’ve tried a lot over the years but Valleyside is the only one we go to now. They have super quality plants and shrubs, an excellent range whatever the time of year, and knowledgable and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Never Again

I have never written a bad review about any business but having been so upset by the manager of Valleyside Garden Center I cannot contain myself. I will never use this garden center or their cafe ,which I frequented regularly ,ever again.
I have always found the manager of Valleyside Garden Center to be curt but today he surpassed himself. He put the phone down on me when I tried to clarify how many bags of compost I could buy. He said ‘don’t think you know there is a global pandemic and then put the phone down!’ I am well aware as have been self isolating due to medical reasons since the lockdown. Stress is not a reason to be rude to customers and he should be ashamed of himself.

I am sorry that you feel that way. I do remember putting the phone down on a customer that quite clearly did not realise thare is a global pandemic that has disrupted all areas of society. It is very fustrating that some people will not accept genine explanations as to why we do not have stock and why we have to operate in a completely different ways. Some of us are under a great deal of stress whilst we try to save a business that myself and my staff have worked very hard to build and sustain through this crisis. It is clearly apparent that these times bring out the best and the worst in people, me included.

Wow!

Went on 31st May 2012 for the first time as havent lived in the area for long and what a great surprise,it was full of plants all looking totally healthy, so well looked after and I thought very reasonably priced. What a nice change to have a garden centre full generally of plants and things to do with a garden rather than a large gift shop and very little of anything else to do with gardening...most certainly will go again and will tell others about it too!
