Founded 15 years ago, Tutors North East is a small, family-focused business with aspirations of becoming the first choice of those who believe in the transformative effect of education.

We offer tuition to children aged 4 - 16 for SATs preparation, special educational needs or just booster lessons to improve confidence and make progress.

Time has proved our preparation course for Independent Schools' (The Royal Grammar School (RGS), Dame Allan's Schools etc) entrance exam leads to children attending some of the finest schools in the North East.

Parental choice, partnership and academic rigour create a dynamic culture within which the beauty of knowledge and learning is illuminated.

Therefore, parents are encouraged to regularly observe formally and informally the tutor's performance and give feedback to the tutor.

Gareth is an outstanding tutor, providing thorough, well-planned lessons that are closely tailored to the student's needs. He has supported my children both at primary and secondary level, drawing on their specific interests and introducing them to new ideas so that lessons are always stimulating, creative and inspiring. English tutor for GCSE - Gareth is fantastic

Thank you so much. My son was really struggling with English language and literature. Gareth was so patient and kind with his private tutoring. With Gareth’s calming nature my son opened up to the learning and he talks about how your ideas have helped him and it’s so lovely to see him excited on a subject that was his worst and he had no interest before you came along and helped. Thank you. Gareth has a unique gift that inspires children. His coaching and tutoring skills are outstanding. Thank again. Fingers crossed for the results in August but I know whatever happens you helped him on the pathway.

Outstanding tutoring

Gareth from Tutors North East provided exceptional support for our son, enabling him to successfully pass his high school entrance exam! His comprehensive approach, covering verbal and non-verbal reasoning, creative writing and mathematics, significantly boosted our son's confidence. Excellent Tutor

Gareth is an absolutely outstanding teacher. We engaged his services to help our son to prepare for his 11 plus. All lessons were interesting and engaging and our son looked forward to every one of them. Gareth is very friendly, encouraging and has a great ability to fill his students with confidence.
My son the entrance exam to RGS Newcastle thanks to Gareth, and was also given advice as to how to approach the interview/ class participation stage. We await the results but can't thank Gareth enough or recommend him more highly.
