Treacle Town Pie Co & Wedding Catering

rude man, unreliable and very rude

Driving to the lakes from Cornwall dropped into Macc where I lived for 45 years. Have always sung the praises of treacle town being the nearest to the classic Fytons pies of old. My family were eager to try and we’d placed an order for early collection, on arrival we were told they weren’t ready as Mark had a wedding on (isn’t that your business?) and when we said we’d placed an order we were told “there’s nothing I can do about it” his attitude was appalling. We were to leave at 830 but thought we’d hang on for a bit and called back later to be told “I’m at a wedding you’ll have to try the shop “ when I mentioned her agreed to have them for us at 8am he Hung up on me, called again and he put the phone down again.

I was a at a wedding that this company was going to cater for but cancelled at the last minute. I could not believe how someone could cancel less than 2 weeks prior to the wedding, because they had a better offer.
Luckily Lancashire caterers stepped in and
everyone agreed how amazing the food was.

He said he was in South Africa organising his mums funeral-but Google search shows she died a long time ago
Visited his unit-and there he was!
He said he was still going to SA to be at the autopsy & was flying out soon
When confronted with his fantastical lies he didn’t care
He said he’d actually double bkd & preferred to cater for the other wedding
He was v dismissive
No apology/remorse/regret/help to secure alternative caterers-even though it was on Jubilee W/E
V unprofessional
He had no staff-but he would’ve known this long before & could’ve given more notice
Judging by his previous lies how can we believe this latest excuse?
He said ‘at least you know, I couldv just not turned up’
He clearly has no morals/integrity
He said Iv no business to interfere & threatened legal action but as I’m the mother of the groom &the one paying it IS my business

Mark was most helpful when I rang to request a refund for my daughter's wedding which has sadly been cancelled and agreed to refund the payment we had made [over and above the deposit] in full.
