Tracts Vehicle Repairs Ltd

For several years I used to take my cars to Tracts for MOTs, servicing, maintenance and repairs, but I won't be doing that again.
I was duped by them by getting charged £90 for a tyre repair in November 2024. It turned out that there was no damage to the tyre and all it needed was to get sealed around the rim for which they charged me £90 for an hour's labour, no materials. At most places this will cost you between £25 and £45.
I called them to inform them about my dissatisfaction. They said that they would look into it and call me back, but they never did. I chased twice again after that but everytime they had some excuse and said they would call me back, but never got back to me.
I will not be using Tracts again...

I called Tracts recently (2 days before Xmas eve 2022). My van's alternator had packed in and i was immobile, a disaster. Tracts couldn't do the work but as promised they called me back with a contact, Adam a mobile mechanic texted me that he could do it later that day and he replaced my alternator the same day, finishing the job in an hour doing the job outside my friends house at 7pm that evening.

Absolutely blown away by the help from Tracts and also the superb service from Adam. I cannot thank you all enough. Happy Christmas 2022, mine will be now thanks to you kind people. Darryl

Excellent service, friendly and professional staff. Very reasonably priced

I am a local GP (doctor) and am driving a ten year old Citroen. It does need occasional fixes, but other garages have not been able to help the way Tracts does. Everything is done well and in a timely manner. Missfires, exhaust problems and MOTs are all handled smoothly. The manager, T Searle (and his team) is helpful, honest and thoroughly professional. An exhaust pipe disconnect and missfire was fixed promptly for under £35. Another time my rubber mounting for rear exhaust had failed, leaving the pipe hanging and rattling. Tracts didnt have the specific Renault mounting in stock so took 15minutes to re-fix the exhaust using flexi-wire. They charged me NOTHING but advised it may only last a few weeks. I ordered the rubber mounting online (cost £5). However I delayed bringing the mounting back to Tracts until my MOT 7 month later (they fitted it then in minutes) - the temporary wire-fix had worked perfectly for those 7 months.

I really appreciate that Tracts will advise me on work that NEEDS done and then work that could be done - leaving me with an informed choice. Also, the work they do is high standard - it doesn't need a revisit. Being a quality operation, they are usually very busy, but I am happy to wait the 1 or 2 days for a trusted service. There are all models of cars (old and new) going through their garage, which suggests they are competent handling all makes of veihicle.

As a final plus point: the Enterprise car/van rental depot is next door. They are good value so I have been able to rent a car for 24 hrs (for under £20) while I leave my old banger with Tracts.
I've never reviewed anything else online, but have been so impressed with this excellent garage that I thought I should do so this time. Dr Phil Davies
