Reviews

Very questionable business dealing with vulnerable people.

Buyers beware! I am sickened by the owner of Town and Country Mobility who has taken over £5000 from my elderly parents. He has sold them a poor quality scooter and powered wheel chairs at very inflated costs, one that was not 'fit for purpose', which in turn meant my father who is suffering ill health and disability, was hurled out of his chair whilst trying to get across a road. The owner attends vulnerable peoples homes and can be very intimidating. We have been left questioning whether they have sold us new, or second hand equipment - passed off as new, but either way, at very inflated prices. He has questionable ways of taking payments, again getting intimidating. I will not let Town and Country near my parents again. The powered chair has developed many faults and my father has lost trust in using it. I have asked for their money back, in returning all his substandard equipment back, but to no avail. Going legal, and will be advising trading standards. PLEASE BEWARE!

WHO CAN YOU TRUST NOT TO RIP YOU OFF

ive popped in on a couple of occasions to buy the odd item, staff were very polite, did not pester me for a sale, which I like. the last item I wanted were new battery's for my mobility scooter, theses were not in stock, not an off the shelf item. as it was a Friday and I needed my scooter over the weekend, we arranged for it to be picked up Monday tea time ( 6pm ish). Monday at 5:15pm I received a courtesy call to remind me he would be round in about 25 minutes. I did ask for him to check the motor brush's as well. our next contact was on Tuesday teatime asking if the next day was ok to return my scooter. which it was. we had arranged a price before hand. having done my homework on pricing I was surprised at my bill. how good was he, I expected to have to pay VAT on top off the agreed amount, but as I qualified for disability I don't pay this.. I never knew, he didn't have to tell me, what a bonus for me about £50 - $60 back in my pocket. I highly recommend this place. NOT A RIPOFF

My mum spent over 2k on a number or things, electric bed (which shes gota wait 3more days whichll make it a week in total) a electric arm chair, electric bike for her friend whos also her carer and a scooter for herself. well she found one she liked and was delivered to her house next day. she went out on it to be almost thrown off due to it wobbling as she rides it also one of the wheels are slightly off centre. he came round and looked at it ans said nothings wrong its new. well she went in 2days later and complained and he showed her two other scooters where shed have to pay 1-200on top of the 1k shed already paid. but he perswaded her to try it for longer. well she came off it at the weekend due to the fact it wobbling and so did her friend when he drove it back to the shop. he then said he doesnt do refunds (which wasnt stated before purchase and all companies should) due to theres nothing wrong with it but she can do a stiaght swap for the other one or get a small shopping type one for 600 and get 400 cash back technically thats a refund. well she got her old scooter back thankfully and is deciding what to do. this guy is a one man band type person he runs the shop on his own and the workshop and the deliveries as the guy he employs is to young to drive. he preys on the vunerable people to get money then when theres a problem he acts like nothings wrong and wasnt like that when it left the shop. avoid him if you want mobility scooter. hes ok on most the other stuff so far.
