AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Do not care about animal wellbeing. Our dog on 6 April injured herself seriously on the beach. At 9am we rang the VETS and booked to go in as our dog needed help. We booked the appointment and then an hour later the receptionist rang to say the veterinary nurse refused to help our dog as she was a foreign rescue 4/5 YEARS AGO. Our little girl has a UK VET and we are on holiday. The receptionist was apologetic but it was outside her control. The point was our dog was in trouble and they did not care. I have lodged a complaint to the vetinary council.

My mini dachshund Oscar had his teeth cleaned and polished at Torbridge Vets. He was anxious when I left him but as soon as he had had his treatment one of the nurses rang to say he was coming round from his anaesthetic and she was just going to take him for a little walk. When I collected him I expected him to be ‘over the moon’ to be going home but he had been fussed so much by the lovely staff at Torbridge Vets that he wasn’t that bothered to see me! His teeth are beautiful now too, so white and clean. I would definitely recommend taking your pets to Torbridge vets. Great staff, great treatment for pets in a caring environment.

I called Torbridge just as they had closed panicking as I had cut my budgies nail too short and it was bleeding quite a lot even though I had applied corn starch. The lady that answered the phone was so helpful and arranged for me to come in straight away to see the nurse. I saw a nurse called Laura who although she had actually finished work, stayed behind to see my budgie. She was brilliant, reassuring me that it happens all the time to all sorts of pets. They checked out our lovely budgie and gave us some advice. Thank you so much for seeing our budgie even though the practice had just closed. I didn't realise just how important our budgie was to us till now!
