Great Martial Arts Centre - TOKEI

This is an awesome place the instructors are very passionate about their discipline. It is one of those centres where you can do several completely different martial arts all for one reasonable fee.

Tokei - A Great Place to Train

Fantastic place to train for young and old regardless of your fitness and skills levels. Tokei caters for all, from advanced martial artists to those starting out weight training. The instructors are knowledgeable and approachable and the all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great and if you are looking for somewhere to train in central London I would unreservedly recommend Tokei!

This gym has changed.

I've been using Tokei gym for about 3 months now. This isn't a chain gym and the low price reflects this. This is a gym where people who want to get fit and meet their goals go. Maybe back in 2013 there could have been an issue with reception, but I have to say the staff and management here are very friendly, they are really making an effort to ensure all the kit is always working, and they are approachable when things do go wrong. There are classes to for lunch time and weekends, and I would say that if you are serious about your health then this is the place.
I use a chain gym at the weekend when out of London and it's cold and impersonal, Tokei is the exact opposite.

Awful service

I used to attend classes here but luckily my instructor has now moved elsewhere and I'm so happy!

This place is cold and unfriendly. The reception staff never smile and look either annoyed or just plain uninterested when you ask them simple questions. I cut my finger and the receptionist who had the first aid kit took ages to get off her lazy behind and give me a plaster, she was too busy was on her phone. I missed 15 mins of my class because of this and she didn't even apologise when I complained. Unacceptable.

The other instructors, especially the Karate and Aki-Jiu Jitsu instructors are egotistical and extremely unapproachable. I am not surprised their classes only have 2-3 students in them.

Don't know about the female changing rooms, but male ones are dirty and the showers are disgusting. Their towels are so old they have holes in them. Come on, how much to buy some new towels?!

I'm so so happy my instructor has now left this awful gym. His classes are friendly and very welcoming. Everyone leaves feeling happy. This gym did not deserve such a fantastic coach and also our money!
