What makes me an eco-friendly gardener?

The way I travel to work is definitely unique, I would say I am the only gardener within the Galashiels area that travels to my clients properties by an eco-friendly electric powered bicycle along with a pull along trailer which carries my tools/equipment. By travelling in this manner I avoid increasing my carbon footprint.

What I do that makes my work eco-friendly?

I ensure that all the products I use are free from harmful chemicals, I do this by using eco- friendly natural pest and weed control wherever possible. II can give expert advice and guidance on managing and growing your home-grown fruit and vegetables. All my power tools such as mower, strimmer and hedge cutter are electric so I do not use petrol at any stage. Which also avoids creating unnecessary air pollution. I do not burn any garden waste or wood as this can be detrimental to the environment, wildlife along with being a public nuisance.

Wherever possible I like to compost any green waste. If this is not possible I will take all waste to the nearest Recycling Centre and dispose of in the correct containers following the local council guidelines. I can help give further advice on all matters relating to garden sustainability and using least harmful methods of maintaining your garden.
