Teaching Ballet and Contemporary in a vibrant Wimbledon Village venue, fostering passion, performance, and excellence for over 50 years.
Established in 1975 by former Royal Ballet dancer Vernie Stilwell, The Wimbledon Village School of Ballet has nurtured a love of dance in children and young adults aged 3–18 for nearly five decades. Now under the expert guidance of Fiona Keeble (AISTD Dip.), with over 32 years of teaching experience, the school offers a broad curriculum, including Ballet, Contemporary, as well as classes for adults.
Located in the award-winning Garden Hall within St. Mary’s Parish Church grounds in Wimbledon Village, the school provides a bright and spacious environment that inspires creativity and performance. This modern venue, recognised by the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2005, offers convenient drop-off facilities for parents.
The school follows the ISTD syllabus, achieving a 100% examination pass rate and preparing students for biannual performances that foster confidence and a passion for the arts. With highly experienced teachers and a commitment to excellence, The Wimbledon Village School of Ballet continues to shape the next generation of dancers.

Our Team
Mrs Fiona Keeble - Principal
Trained at Laine Theatre Arts and The Hammond School, achieving advanced levels in ballet, modern, and tap. With over 30 years of teaching experience, including time in Italy and the UK, Fiona has led The Wimbledon Village School of Ballet since 2007.
Ms Serena Hordon - Ballet Teacher
An accomplished dancer with experience in theatre, film, and television, holds Advanced Ballet and Modern certificates and ISTD DDE teaching diplomas. With over 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for choreography, Serena enjoys inspiring students at The Wimbledon Village School of Ballet.
Ms Victoria Butcher - Ballet Teacher
A BA (Hons) graduate from the London College of Dance and winner of the Pamela Wray Award for Choreography, has performed with leading contemporary choreographers. Now an RAD- and ISTD-qualified teacher, she leads adult ballet classes at The Wimbledon Village School of Ballet and is also a certified Pilates instructor.
