As the saying goes “you get what you pay for” well that’s true but when you book a hotel or B&B there are some basics you expect to get such as a room door that opens and closes without using brute force, a wardrobe to hang your clothes, a chair, a table, a waste bin, toilet paper in the toilet, locks on the shower door that work and handles on the bathroom door that you can use to open the door.

Well you get none of these things at the White Horse.

All I can say is the photo on the website of the a room was nothing like mine looked !!

My single bedroom had a small sink in one corner (which was never cleaned for days), a very old three draw cabinet, two hooks on the back of the door and a bed and a 1980s tv perched on the cabinet that was only for show as it did not work.

There were no towels in the bedroom and when I asked for one I was given two small hand towels !!

Despite the room being large enough there was no wardrobe and the room door only had two hooks to hang any clothes. The three draw cabinet had items left from the last guest. The bed was old and the mattress creaked and was noisy when ever you moved, as was the one in the next room as I could hear this through the thin walls.

The windows were not double glazed or secondary glazed and in fact I wondered at one point if they had glass in them at all as the noise from the duel carriageway and even people standing outside could be heard the whole time.

While taking about noise there is the noise from the bar as well that permeates up through the floors.

There were two shared bathrooms on my floor neither of the doors could be locked and both toilets did not have any toilet paper in them. The showers were adequate which is about as positive as this reviews gets.
Although there has to be a positive in all things and the breakfast was cooked to order and was good.

Your expected to pay when you book via the phone but at £30 a night the White Horse is stretching the bounds of good value beyond any acceptable limits.

All I can say is you get what you pay for so don’t waste your money the place is a dump and will never change. I would use stronger language here but know if I did the review would not be published and everyone who is considering using the Whit Horse should be warned about how bad this place is it has got to be the worst place I have ever stayed.
