Superb Function
I have spent the last three weeks trying to book a function room with buffet in the Reading area. As there are only forty people coming I had given up all hope as most places wanted to charge upwards of 500 pounds just for the room hire. A friend recommended the three tuns and I have nothing but praise for the way that my requirements were met. Sarah the landlady went out of her way to cater for our party, and the food was absolutely top rate all for a very reasonable cost. I have nothing but good things to say about customer service and quality,

WHAT A DIFFERENCE FOLLOWING THE REFURBISHMENT
Well what can you say!!!!
This place has come on in leaps and bounds following it's refurbishment. It is now a lovely comfortable pub with sofa's and new furniture. the main bar has been transformed from dark and dingy to a stunning open plan with high ceiling (that was previously hidden with a false ceiling) and the big windows at the back also open up to let a lot more natural light in. AND NO MORE POOL TABLES OR DARTS BOARDS EITHER WHICH IS GREAT!!!
The food has also come a long way and is definitely one of the better places to eat now in the area.
They have found a great balance between offering a great menu that is also reasonably priced unlike another lovely pub down the road that I won't mention the name of that is overpriced and obviously sounds better on the menu than what you actually get (I suspect brake brothers there).
The Three Tuns claims all it's food is fresh and made on the premises and from what I've tried I would certainly believe it too.....
I had Sea bass with daulphinois potato and it was superb.
A friend of mine also had a birthday party here recently and they did a hog roast for it which again was amazing not just to look at but amazing to eat also.
Well all I can say is give this place a go with an open mind if you ever used it before the refurbishment.
ZERO-HERO IS THE BEST WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT!!!!

15 years and still strong
Okay, the Tuns isn't the most upmarket and fresh pub in Reading, but I've been dropping in since my student days, nearly fifteen years ago. Not a lot has changed over that time, but it's still a great place fort a few pints with the guys and optional game of pool or ten :)
